35  Introduction

This final module first highlights the practical applications of network modeling for epidemics in EpiModel, focusing on prior publications in the HIV and COVID literature. A short set of discussion questions then asks you to sketch your own network-modeling project. We close with the technical and scientific resources available for EpiModel users to build and execute research-level infectious disease models.

NME-I and NME-II are designed as a single arc: NME-I gives you built-in network models, and NME-II builds the research-level extensions behind the applications below. Taking them back to back is the intended path.

Picking up EpiModel on your own? Start here:

  1. Work through the tutorials at epimodel.org.
  2. Copy the closest worked example from the EpiModel Gallery.
  3. Read the Journal of Statistical Software paper for the framework.

Once you have a working model, the extension packages (EpiModelHIV, EpiModelCOVID, ARTnet, EpiModelHPC) are the advanced reading.

The slide decks are embedded directly below. Use the on-screen arrows or your keyboard to advance, press F for full screen, or open any deck in a standalone presentation view.
